Four local animal rescues unite for a ghoulishly fun night for guests 21 and over at the Howl & Yowl Bash on Friday, Oct. 12 from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m., at the former Boogie Nights venue in Evansville. The event will benefit Warrick Animal Guardians, Another Chance for Animals, PC Pound Puppies and It Takes A Village. 55th Annual Antique Steam & Gas Engine Fall Show is Oct. 12, 13 and 14. Featuring Oliver and Moline tractors and Heilman Steam Engines. Attractions include a large flea market, food booths, displays of tractors, gas engines, lawn tractors, steam engines, 1800s log cabin, sawmill, horse barn, blacksmith shop, wheat threshing and more. Porkapalooza 2018

The Fall 2018 Porkapalooza BBQ Fundraiser for the Newburgh Senior Center will take place on Friday, Oct. 12 and Saturday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day, at the Senior Center on 529 Jefferson Street in Newburgh. The famous Newburgh BBQ Coalition will be smoking the pork. This is the last Coalition smoke open to the public in 2018. Lunches include a sandwich, chips and a drink for just $5. You can eat in, take out or call the Center at 812-853-5627 for group orders of four or more. Pre-order baby back ribs, tenderloins and pulled pork by Tuesday, Oct. 9. Veteran brick dedication

Russ Bryant, a 95-year-old WW2 and Korea vet, will be getting a brick dedicated to him on Sunday, Oct. 14 at the Veterans Wall in Lynnville, located on Main Street. There will be a short program starting at 12:30 p.m., before the brick dedication. Please come out and support this vet.

Craft Auction

Newburgh United Methodist Women's Craft Auction is Monday, Oct. 15 at Newburgh United Methodist Church, 4178 Hwy. 261, Newburgh. More than 100 items will be auctioned. Doors open at 5 p.m. Appetizer and dessert buffet at 5:30 p.m. Auction begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $3 each (ticket monies donated to food pantry/clothes closet). "Flowers on the Lake" Event

"Flowers on the Lake" is an annual event created by Albion Fellows Bacon Center. The purpose of the event is to honor those whose lives have been taken due to domestic violence, as well as survivors and others still experiencing it. The event will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 16, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at City Lake located on Moore Street in Boonville. 25th Annual Ghost Walks Are Coming

Get ready to hear interesting local tales and enjoy strolling the streets of Historic Newburgh on Oct. 19, 20 and 21. Expect some new, fun things for our 25th anniversary celebration. Participants on the Ghost Walks can choose between three different haunted tours. Tours will run Friday, Oct. 19, 6 p.m. -- 9 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 20, 5 p.m. -- 9 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 21, 5 p.m. -- 8 p.m. Group tickets for groups of 15 or more are $7 each. Advance purchase general admission tickets are $8 per person. We're also looking for volunteers to be ghosts and guides for the ghost walks. Newburgh Senior Center

Newburgh Senior Center is looking for people who enjoy having fun. Right now, there is room for euchre players, clabber, rook, bridge and pinochle players. A quilting group also meets on Thursdays, 9 a.m -11:30 a.m. Everyone 55 and older in the tri-state area is welcome to come and play with us. Call 812-853-5627 for information. Pumpkin Palooza, a Halloween carnival, will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Warrick County School Administration Field. This event is for kids ages 1-12. Cost is $1 entrance fee and 10 tickets for $1.00. Pony rides, inflatables, barrel rides, storyteller, food booths, grand prizes and more. All proceeds benefit BoonvilleNOW.
