Town of Newburgh Community Wide Yard Sale

The Town of Newburgh Community Wide Yard Sale will be June 8-9. A map of registered yard sales will be available on June 1 at Town Hall, on the Town website, and on the Town Facebook page. All participating residents are asked to put a balloon on their mailbox.

Howl at the Moon Night Trail Run

Spend a summer night running through the woods at Angel Mounds. It's the Howl At The Moon Trail Run on Friday, June 8, from 8 until 11 p.m. at Angel Mounds State Historic Site, 8215 Pollack Ave, Evansville. Take on a 5K course through the woods. New this year: a 50K run (10 laps around the 5K course). Tickets available at

Howl Rising 5K/10K/15K/Half

As the sun rises, the trails come to life again with the Howl Rising 5K/10K/15K/Half on Saturday, June 9. Each race is run on the 5K trail course at Angel Mounds State Historic Site, 8215 Pollack Ave, Evansville (with the Half doing an additional small loop at the end). All distances start at 7 a.m. The path will be well marked with signs, arrows, and the footprints of those that ran the 50K the night before. Tickets available at

SWIMGA 30th Anniversary and Birthday Party

Southwestern Indiana Master Gardener Association's 30th Anniversary festivities begin on Saturday, June 9, with several community gardens hosting an open house with demonstrations: Reitz Home, Sunrise Park, USI Herb Garden, Oaklyn Library Meadow, Newburgh Community Park, Three Sisters at Angel Mounds, and the Master Gardener Display Garden. For specific times, visit On Sunday, June 10, SWIMGA's 30th birthday party at the Master Gardener Display Garden is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy birthday cake, ice cream, and visit with various artists located throughout the garden. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music of Minnie Black's Gourd Band between 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The garden is located on East Lloyd Expressway. The event is free.

Ride for Hope

Third annual motorcycle ride through scenic southern Indiana to benefit Hope Central will be held June 9 at 9 a.m. Help stock the food bank, clothing bank and provide training to give people a hand up to overcome living in poverty. Cost is $20 for first rider and $35 per couple. Starts at Bud's Harley-Davidson in Evansville and ends at Harold Gunn Pavilion in Boonville with refreshments and fellowship. 9 a.m. registration, 10 a.m. first bike out, and 11 a.m. last bike out. Mug N Bun Car Show

A Mug N Bun Car Show will be held on June 10 at Baker Chapel UMC, 3495 SR 62 East, Boonville. Registration is 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. with awards at 3 p.m. Food will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Come by to see the cars and have a hamburger, homemade fries and milkshake or your choice of other tasty treats. Proceeds go to God Squad Youth Group.

Men's Club Father/Son Banquet

Men's Club Father/Son Banquet at St. Clement Church, Boonville, on Sunday, June 10, starting with a meal at 5 p.m. in the parish Social Hall. The speaker will be a team from St. Vincent Evansville Hospital StatFlight, the Life Line helicopter that flies patients to the hospital in any emergency. They will talk about what they do and, if all conditions are approved and if not needed in an emergency, they can also land the helicopter on the property for a onsite viewing.
