Warrick County Rocks Meeting

Calling the young at heart of all ages! Warrick County Rocks Meeting at Hemenway Church, 124 E Sycamore St, Boonville, on Monday, Jan. 15, at 6:30 p.m. Creating art by painting ROCKS to hide/gift around Warrick County in Indiana to brighten someone's day. The goal is to encourage art, creativity, and community. Warrick County Rocks meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays in the Gathering Room (aka basement). Come have some fun and help brighten someone's day.

Free Community Dinner

Free Community Dinner at the Tennyson Community Center on Wednesday, Jan. 17, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Invite your friends, neighbors, and family. Everyone is welcome. Sponsored by the Community Outreach Ministries.

Free Pilates Fitness Classes

Friends of the Ohio Township Public Library System Used Book Sale

The Friends of the Ohio Township Public Library System will sponsor a used book sale at the Bell Road Library located at Highway. 66 and Bell Road in Newburgh on Jan. 18 through Jan. 21. Preview sale for members of the Friends will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18. You can join the Friends that night! Extended hours open to the public include Friday, Jan. 19 and Saturday, Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 21, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friends book bags may be purchased for $8 and filled for an additional $8. If you already have a Friends book bag, bring it and fill it for $8. The proceeds from the sale are used to provide educational programs and other support for the Bell Road, Chandler and Newburgh Libraries in Warrick County. You can also help the OTPL Friends by donating gently used books at any OTPL branch. Just mark your donations "Friends Book Sale." No magazines, VHS tapes or encyclopedias, please. Rummage Sale

The Chandler Cumberland Presbyterian Church will have a rummage sale at the church fellowship hall on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018. There will be dishes, furniture, clothing, and other miscellaneous items. The sale will be from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The church is located at 338 South State Street in Chandler.

Newburgh Senior Center Collecting Items for Kids' Corner

Members and friends of the Newburgh Senior Center are collecting items for the Newburgh Food Pantry (at Mother Theresa's Treasures) Kids' Corner in January. Items needed are socks and underwear, sizes newborn through teens; training pants; shampoo; soap; blankets; swaddling blankets; pajamas; onesies; sippy cups and bottles. Items should be in good condition with no stains or noticeable wear. Diapers and formula are not needed, as the pantry obtains these items elsewhere. There is a box marked Newburgh Food Pantry in the puzzle room at the Center, 529 Jefferson Street. If you have questions or need information, please call 812-853-5627 during hours of operation, 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Newburgh Senior Center Activities

Newburgh Senior Center is a gathering spot for independent people 55 or older who want to have fellowship with like-minded individuals. The Center is a SWIRCA meal site and offers lunch at 11:30 a.m. each day it is open. Other activities include exercise at 11 a.m., different games and educational programs, guest musical performers and occasional day trips. They play Clabber on Mondays at noon; bridge on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and Euchre on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays at noon, they gather for Scrabble.
