39th Annual Fiddler Fest

The 39th Annual Fiddler Fest is Friday, Aug. 24 and Saturday, Aug. 25 at Newburgh Old Lock and Dam Park. Dinner Friday will be served from 5-8 p.m., with music by Logan Dyer and Friends from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Dinner will be served on Saturday from 12 p.m.-8 p.m., with music by Chris Wischer from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. and Sassybrown Bluegrass Band from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. All dinners include catfish fiddlers or filets, corn, slaw, and bread; three fish dinner $15; two fish dinner $12; one fish dinner $10. Fish sandwich $7 (one filet, two slices of bread, bag of chips). Hush puppies, soft drinks and beer garden available, as well as other food vendors, craft and information booths. Proceeds benefit Friends of Newburgh, a nonprofit organization providing funds to support various projects in and around Newburgh.

Build A Better Community Benefit BBQ

Build A Better Community will have a benefit BBQ on Saturday, Aug. 25 in the parking lot next to Taco Bell from 10 a.m. until sold out. Pork butts: full $25, half $13; Ribs: full slab $25, half slab $13; Half chicken $5; Pork chop $5; Pork chop sandwich $5; Pulled pork sandwich $4; Pint of pulled pork $5; Extra BBQ sauce $3/pint. Pre-orders must be picked up by 1 p.m. All proceeds go to Build A Better Community to help with events for the community. Sponsored by Tennyson G.B. Brotherhood.

Selvin UMC Homecoming Services

Selvin United Methodist Church Homecoming Service is Sunday, Aug. 26. Worship service at 9 a.m. with Randy Beard singing at 10:45. Noon carry-in meal with meat provided. Selvin UMC is located at 12088 Yellowbanks Trail.

Boonville High School Class of 1968 50th Reunion

The Boonville High School Class of 1968 will hold its 50th class reunion the weekend of Sept. 28. The Homecoming football game will be on Friday, Sept. 28, and Saturday, Sept. 29 will feature a casual evening dinner. Please call 812-897-1466 if you have not received your reservation form.

Ghost Walks Are Coming

Get ready to hear interesting local tales and enjoy strolling the streets of Historic Newburgh. Group ticket sales began Aug. 1 for groups of 15 or more. Individual tickets will go on sale Sept. 1. We're also looking for volunteers to be ghosts and guides for the ghost walks this year. Volunteer info meeting will be Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. in the Emerald Room at the Newburgh Library on Bell Road. Poorman's Country Club Golf Scramble

The Poorman's Country Club Golf Scramble is Saturday, Sept. 8 at Boonville Country Club, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Proceeds benefit Boonville High School Scholarship and the Poorman's Country Club (a nonprofit organization). Entry fee is $60 per player and includes green fees, cart and dinner. Registration limited to the first-paid 28. Four-man teams. Awards dinner will be served immediately following the scramble. Bread of Life 4th Annual Golf Scramble

Bread of Life 4th Annual Golf Scramble is Saturday, Sept. 22 at Boonville Country Club, 5244 IN-61, Boonville. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m, with tee-off at 1 p.m. Registration forms and payments due by Sept. 10. $70 per person; entry fee includes lunch, green fees, cart and goodie bag. Flag Down Cancer

Aldersgate United Methodist Church and Warrick County United Methodist Church 2nd Annual Hospitality Car Show is Sunday, Sept. 23. Vehicle registration is $15 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Dash plaques to the first 50 cars registered. Trophies awarded to the top 20 vehicles. Judging begins at 2 p.m. and awards will be given at 3:30 p.m. Food service begins at 11 a.m. View admission is free. Party in Paradise 2018

Party in Paradise is a throwback to simpler times and an opportunity to enjoy one of Warrick County's treasures, Friedman Park. Relax with friends on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 5 p.m.-10 p.m., with a cold beer, local live music and delicious food truck options. All funds raised will benefit Warrick Trails. Tickets are just $5 in advance and $10 at the door. Yes, you read that right; this isn't your stuffy, overpriced fundraiser. So mark your calendar, invite a few friends, and be prepared to Party in Paradise. Party in Paradise is 21+ and valid identification must be provided. Ticket includes entry and live music.
