BHS Blazers Dance Clinic

The Boonville High School Blazers will host their 2019 Dance Team Clinic on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Boonville High School. All kids from pre-K to eighth grade who love to dance and do fun activities are welcome to participate. Bring a lunch and sign in at the table near the cafeteria entrance. Parents can choose to leave or stay; however, volunteers are there to help. Dancers and kids will perform during half-time at the game that night and need to meet 45 minutes before the game starts.

Diabetes Prevention Program

Deaconess Diabetes Center is offering a Diabetes Prevention Program that will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Deaconess Clinic Downtown, Conference Room B. The Deaconess Diabetes Prevention Program is a year-long program recognized by the Center for Disease Control and the American Diabetes Association that teaches meaningful lifestyle changes to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes, lowers the risk of having a heart attack or stroke, improves overall health and increases your energy and well-being. It is offered at no cost and is designed to help change and replace unhealthy habits formed over the years, offering practical education and positive, encouraging support. Rose Hill Cemetery Annual Membership Meeting

The Annual Membership Meeting of Rose Hill Cemetery in Newburgh will be held Thursday, Jan. 17 at 4:30 p.m. in the cemetery office. Anyone interested in the management, upkeep and future development of the cemetery is urged to attend.

Used Book Sale

The Friends of the Newburgh Chandler Public Library will sponsor a used book sale at the Bell Road Library located near the intersection of Hwy. 66 and Bell Road in Newburgh on Jan. 17 through Jan. 20. A preview sale for members of the Friends will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17. You can join the Friends that night. Extended hours open to the public include Friday, Jan. 18 and Saturday, Jan. 19 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 20 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friends book bags may be purchased for $8 then filled for an additional $8. If you already have a Friends book bag, bring it and fill it for $8. The proceeds from the sale are used to provide educational programs and other support for the Bell Road, Chandler and downtown Newburgh Libraries in Warrick County. The Olivers, who sing Southern Gospel, will be singing at Lord's Harvest Church, 5700 Zion Church Rd., Tennyson, on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be available following the singing.

DHPA Hosting Annual Photo Contest

The Indiana Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology is once again asking the public for photos for its annual Historic Preservation Month photo contest. DHPA works to preserve buildings and the built environment and is looking for photos to celebrate that effort. Specifically, the division is seeking photos of something that has been preserved, is in the process of being preserved, or desperately needs to be preserved. The subject in the photo must be in Indiana and at least 50 years old. The image must show something that was designed and/or built. Send an 8x10 inch matted image, along with the registration form by Apr. 5. The link for the registration form is below. Photographs can be color or black and white, and there is a separate category for digitally enhanced photos. Requirements: Images must be 8x10 inch prints, mounted or matted on or with a white 11x14 matte board; the registration form must be attached to each photo; limit of three photos per person. TRI-CAP Myrtle Beach and Charleston, SC Show Trip
