Used Book Sale
The Friends of the Ohio Township Public Library System used book sale at the Bell Road Library (Hwy. 66 and Bell Road in Newburgh) is on May 17 through May 20. A preview sale for members of the Friends will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 17. Extended hours open to the public include Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 20, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friends book bags may be purchased for $8 then filled for an additional $8. Special Needs Fishing Tournament
Knights of Columbus Council 10257 will be hosting their annual Special Needs Fishing Tournament on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. at the lake and fishing begins at 8:30 a.m. Awards luncheon on site beginning at 11 a.m. Only cost is transportation to and from the lake. Food, attendance prizes, fishing gear, and beverages will be provided for participants and those who escort the participants. Registered Nurses will be on site for the day, as well as emergency vehicle support nearby. Complete an application form and submit it to: Fishing Tournament, 355 W. Eble Rd., Boonville, IN. 47601. Lynnville High School Alumni Banquet
The annual Lynnville High School Alumni Banquet will be held Saturday, May 19, at the Lynnville Community Center. Doors open at 4 p.m. with catered meal at 6 p.m. consisting of fried chicken, roast beef, green beans, mashed potatoes, dressing, slaw, hot rolls, dessert, lemonade, or tea. Graduates of the Lynnville High School 60th Year, Class of 1958, will receive special recognition. Cost is $15 per person. Elberfeld Lions Club Spring Carry-Out BBQ Chicken Dinner
The Elberfeld Lions Club will hold its spring carry-out barbecue chicken dinner on Sunday, May 20, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., at their clubhouse, at 275 Elm Street in Elberfeld. Dinners, consisting of one-half chicken, American potato salad, baked beans, pickle, onion, and bread, will cost $9 for adults and $6.50 for children. All white meat dinners are $1 extra. Proceeds from the dinner will be used to support the Little League program, support the After-Graduation and After-Prom programs at Tecumseh Jr-Sr High School, provide fruit baskets for the elderly, provide eyeglasses for needy school children, and many more community service projects.
Town of Newburgh CommunityWide Yard Sale
The Town of Newburgh Community Wide Yard Sale will be June 8 and June 9. Please register by May 25 to be included in the yard sale map. A map of registered yard sales will be available on June 1 at Town Hall, on the Town website, and on the Town Facebook page. All participating residents are asked to put a balloon on their mailbox.
2018 Run Victoria 5K & 10K
Join us on Saturday, May 26, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. for the most scenic run of the year on the back nine of Victoria National Golf Club at 4800 Roslin Road, Newburgh. Choose from our 5K run, 5K walk, and 10K run options. Stay after the race or just come out and join us at Freidman Park for food, music, kid's games, raffles, and an awesome auction. Activities start at 9 a.m. following the race. 100 percent of race proceeds go to support Warrick Trails. Tickets available at www.RunVictoria.org.
