Veteran's Day Program

The Character Counts Committee of Yankeetown Elementary will be hosting a Veteran's Day program at the school on Friday, Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. All area veterans are invited to attend. Students will be performing musical selections to honor and recognize all branches of the armed forces. WHS Pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus

Warrick Humane Society's annual Pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus by Lisa Polk Photography & Design event is Saturday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. both days. This is not only offered for pets, but also children, adults and whole families. Picture packages start at just $10. Be sure to check the Facebook event for more information.

Folsomville School Group

The Folsomville School Group will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Golden Corral on Cross Pointe Blvd. in Evansville. Anyone who attended Folsomville School or a relative or friend is welcome.

Friends of the Foundry Gala

The Foundry Center for the Arts will be hosting their inaugural Friends of the Foundry Gala on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at 6 p.m. at Rolling Hills Country Club in Newburgh. The evening will include performances by The Foundry Big Band and other local artists, a silent auction and dinner. The menu for this event is fresh tossed salad, hot rolls and butter, pan roasted chicken with lemon buerre blanc sauce, herb roasted red skin potatoes, sautéed green beans and New York cheesecake. They are currently accepting cash donations and/or gifts that will be used for the Gala's silent auction. Please note that items need to be received no later than Nov. 9 and can be dropped off at the Foundry.

Haylee Woods Benefit Pancake Breakfast

Benefit pancake breakfast for Haylee Woods is Saturday, Nov. 17 from 6:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Kiwanis Park, S. First St., Elberfeld. Haylee is a junior at Tecumseh High School and was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Haylee's family to help with medical expenses.

Festival of Trees

The Warrick County Museum, located at 217 S. First St., Boonville, will be featuring their annual Festival of Trees starting Saturday, Nov. 17 and running through Christmas. The museum will have twenty or more decorated trees. Holiday Bazaar will be Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. There is no admission fee. Vendors are varied and will be located on two floors. A light lunch of homemade soups and sandwiches will be available at The Holiday Café. We are open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The museum will be closed starting Dec. 20 and will reopen on Jan. 2.

Second Chance Christmas Giveaway

On Saturday, Nov. 17 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m., Hemenway Church, at 124 E. Sycamore St., Boonville, will be giving away truckloads of clothing and household items. There will be gently used toys as well. Each family will receive a food basket for the holidays. Registration will start at 7:30 a.m. with the giveaway promptly at 8 a.m. lasting through 11 a.m. or until it is all gone. Must bring proof of residency for all children in the household to get new toys. Donations of gently used clothing, household items and toys are being accepted everyday from anyone who would like to contribute. Also accepting nonperishable food for food baskets. Hayleefest, Haylee Woods Benefit

Hayleefest is being thrown on behalf of Haylee Woods on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m. at American Legion Riders Post 351, 250 N. 4th St., Elberfeld. There will be a $5 entry donation fee for all attendees at this event. All ages are welcome. Live entertainment will be provided with Evan Twitty from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and George Shingleton from 9 p.m. until 12 a.m. Beer and food will be sold at the event as well. Food will include chili, hot dogs, fries, burgers, chili cheese fries and chili cheese dogs. Come out and enjoy the night with us and help out a great cause. Haylee is a junior at Tecumseh High School and was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma. 100% of our proceeds will be given to the Haylee Woods family to help them with medical expenses.

2018 Holiday Parade on Main Street

Lynnville's 2018 Holiday Parade on Main Street is on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. The theme will be "A Magical Christmas." Chili, hot dogs, desserts, drinks, Santa and awards will follow at Lynnville Volunteer Fire Department. Areas churches will provide desserts. Parade line-up will begin at 11:45 a.m. at Lynnville Elementary. Please arrive no later than 12:40 p.m. for line-up. Parade registration forms may be picked up at Lynnville or Boonville National Bank. You may also have a form mailed to you by contacting Misty Bogan at 922-3231 or Mindy Green at 403-0132.
