It's time to start thinking spring and getting out of our houses for some fun events. One of those is the newly renamed Historic Newburgh, Inc. Newburgh Wine Festival. If you would like to save on your ticket purchase for the 2019 event, Early Bird tickets will be on sale starting March 1. Buy before the end of March and save on your tickets. Early Bird tickets are $20, price goes to $25 April 1 and $30 at the door. Early Bird tickets are only available online only at www.historicnewburgh.org.

For months now, our Historic Newburgh volunteers have been behind the scenes preparing for the 14th annual Wine Festival. The Newburgh Wine Festival is one of Indiana's oldest and largest wine events. For over a decade, Indiana's vintners have descended upon the Newburgh Riverfront to dole out one-ounce pours of their finest wines to our area wine aficionados.

There are already 12 wineries with contracts in to participate in this year's event. You'll be able to sample and purchase new and exciting wines from participating vintners. Wine seminars are conducted by event sponsors, several of the Tri-State's best restaurants and caterers will sell their signature dishes. There will be live music throughout the day in the music tent and select regional artists showcase their designs in the art area.

We couldn't host this successful weekend event without the support of our corporate sponsors. The sponsors are a key element behind the development of this annual festival promoting Indiana wine and food. Tucker Publishing / Evansville Living Magazine has been our title sponsors from the very first Wine, Art & Jazz Festival. As the event grew, T.R.U. Event Rental joined as a presenting sponsor and ERA First Advantage Realty has supported the Friday evening Grapes on the Grass Soiree the past several years. People's Trust and Savings Bank has embraced the 'People's Choice" award again this year and will be in charge of our program honoring our wineries. A huge special thank you goes out to them and all of our participating sponsors.

Haven't been to the Friday evening "Grapes on the Grass Soiree"? This is my favorite part of the Festival! You'll love it. This year's theme is Coastal! Think an elegant seaside event. $50 includes food, drink entertainment for the evening! You become part of the event as you judge the wines and select who is announced as an award winner Saturday at the Festival!

Join us for the Newburgh Wine Fest Saturday, May 18 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Old Lock & Dam Park. Admission to the festival is limited to persons at least 21 years of age (sorry, no babies). This event takes place RAIN or SHINE. Parking is free, and carpooling is recommended. All guests will receive a souvenir Evansville Living Tasting Glass.

Love the Newburgh Wine Fest and want to help? Volunteers are needed! We need volunteers to help with set up, tear down, ticket booths, ID booths, information tables and so much more. Call Historic Newburgh, Inc. at (812) 853-2815 to sign up.
