Two men are being held at the Warrick County jail after a shooting in Chandler Thursday night.
Trent L. Vanzee, 19, of Boonville suffered a gunshot wound during the incident and was treated and released from the hospital. Vanzee was arrested and is incarcerated at the Warrick County Jail.
Blake D. Morgan, 20, of Evansville was arrested at a residence near Newburgh and is incarcerated at the Warrick County Jail.
Morgan and Vanzee got into an altercation near the intersection of Fifth and Madison streets in Chandler. During the altercation, a firearm was discharged and Vanzee was struck in the leg. The altercation occurred around 10 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing and there may be charges filed against other individuals.
Both Vanzee and Morgan are being held on preliminary charges of Battery with a deadly weapon; Morgan is also facing additional charges involving a firearm. At this time, it is believed that the firearm used in the altercation was a stolen firearm.
The Warrick County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case to determine formal charges on both involved parties.
The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Chandler Police Department the investigation.
