It was an event 200 years in the making.
In September, the Bicentennial Torch Run made its way into Warrick County, highlighting some of the county’s most notable residents.
The torch was passed from Spencer into Warrick County Saturday afternoon. By the time it passed into Vanderburgh, 24 Warrick County residents had helped it on its journey. One of them was Sherrie Sievers, who is active in Boonville NOW.
“It’s really nothing that I’ve done, it’s just we have a group of really devoted and concerned citizens and when you have a group as such, that’s what really makes a difference. It has nothing to do with me. It’s the people you choose to surround yourself with and put on those committees. That’s what gets stuff done. Usually, what I have found, you get the busiest people that you know. It really seems to be when things get done. I’m just fortunate that I know a lot of busy people.”
