7. What are your goals for the office you seek?

Economic development needs to be a strong focus of our county elected officials. With the loss of hundreds of good paying jobs from Alcoa, we need to focus on Warrick County being attractive to new business wanting to expand or locate here. We need to create an environment for existing business in Warrick County that will allow them to grow and prosper so they will remain and employ Warrick County residents. Also, to keep our roads well maintained and improving our drainage.

8. How do you hope to accomplish these things?

I want to develop more private/government partnerships to maximize taxpayer dollars spent on projects and development. I want to and will work with our county council to make sure we are spending our resident’s taxpayer’s dollars wisely. I want to facilitate and create an environment that encourages business expansion and growth. I will work to streamline regulations that discourage development and, at the same time, keep regulations that make sense to protect residents of Warrick County.

9. Is there anything else you would like to add that you believe would be pertinent for voters to know about you?

I believe county government can benefit from good business practices and leadership that I have learned over the last 30-plus years in the private sector. My conservative values and common sense approach will help guide me as your County Commissioner. I look forward to working with our county council and making Warrick County a better place to live for our citizens.

Most of my awards have came from the moulding of athletes minds and and seeing them excel at whatever sport I was coaching at that time. I expect to accomplish this with the support of our present and newly elected school board members, along with our current administration and teachers! With everyone’s input and communication, we all should help make positive decisions going forward for the next four years.

9. Is there anything else you would like to add that you believe would be pertinent for voters to know about you?

I’ve never been a politician and a politician is not what the school board needs. My experience in every day business management and my time donated to our Warrick County children should help out tremendously. I’ve always been a right is right and wrong is wrong kind a guy and any one that knows me knows this. I feel everyone should abide from the same set of rules no matter who you are — administration, teachers, parents and students.

Goal number two will be achieved by observing office employees as they process payments and prepare bank deposits and immediately correcting any mishandling of these tasks. Goal number three will be achieved by comparing the procedures that are in place to the procedures required and changing them when necessary. Goal number four will be achieved by requiring employees to record the contact information and the question asked for any taxpayer who asks a question to which the employee does not have the answer. These questions will be referred to the treasurer for researching and answering.

9. Is there anything else you would like to add that you believe would be pertinent for voters to know about you?

If elected, my goal will be to establish a nonpartisan environment where both employees and taxpayers are treated with respect and courtesy and to operate the office efficiently and effectively so that tasks are completed by deadline and taxpayer money is invested wisely and disbursed properly.

7. What are your goals for the office you seek?

To continue to provide services to the citizens of Warrick County in an efficient, professional and courteous manner. I also will be investigating the possibility of digitizing our records to make it even easier for those who need to access these records on a daily basis. I also pledge to continue in my current status as a “working” clerk — assisting all the employees of the Clerk’s office in whatever tasks need such assistance.

8. How do you hope to accomplish these things?

I hope to continue to accomplish these goals by maintaining my hands-on approach and by treating all the clerk’s office employees with the dignity and respect that their years of service and dedication require. I also have already begun the process of exploring the logistics of converting historical documents to digital format.

9. Is there anything else you would like to add that you believe would be pertinent for voters to know about you?

I am a dedicated Christian wife, mother of three and grandmother of three. I truly believe that we (elected officials) need to be held accountable to the voters of Warrick County and they deserve office holders who are willing and able to devote their time and efforts to fulfill the duties of the office to which they were elected. I can assure you that the voters of Warrick County will receive my best efforts and continued hard work to complete the tasks required of me.

Warrick County Recorder

5. Work experience related to the office sought.

Elected Warrick County Recorder 2004 to 2012 (term limited to two consecutive terms) and Warrick County Treasurer 2012 to 2016. Prior to public office, I worked in banking 10 years, bank officer/branch manager, real estate broker/sales/property management, founded Newburgh Tax Service Payroll and Bookkeeping Firm, now operated by our daughter, Rebecca Benigni.

6. Significant awards earned

Graduated with honors from USI, Legacy of Lincoln Award in 2015, Excellence in Public Service graduate of the Richard E. Lugar Series, Association of Indiana Counties Education Certification, out of 1,008 Indiana Townships, as a Township Trustee in Warrick County, I was selected as the Indiana State Trustee of the Year. I also received various real estate awards and recognitions as a realtor.

7. What are your goals for the office you seek?

I will do an evaluation of current office practices and procedures to look for new innovative ways to reduce costs without sacrificing service. I enjoyed my time previously as recorder and love the history in the office, as well. I hope to reinstitute my practice of speaking to outside groups, young people and organizations about some of the interesting history in Warrick County. Review PRIA standards and determine feasibility regarding e-notarization of recorded documents.

8. How do you hope to accomplish these things?

As the former recorder, I brought new innovative ideas and products to the office. I was the second office in the state to implement “Property Fraud Alert,” which is free to county property owners. I added AVID, Tapestry and updated Laredo software, which provides online access to recorded documents. Digitization of aperture cards, historic books restoration, prior to IC Code law enactment, I redacted Social Security numbers and Military DD214s. Veteran record safekeeping was instituted during my term. I am especially proud of the implementation of e-recording during my second term. I will endeavor to preserve the user-only fee-based Perpetuation Fund to update technology, computers, servers, and in the future upgraded software. I really enjoyed my work in the recorder’s office and the great friendly and efficient service we provided.

9. Is there anything else you would like to add that you believe would be pertinent for voters to know about you?

I have the education, background, experience and a proven record to bring the recorder’s office up to exceptional standards. I want the recorder’s office to be the most user-friendly office in the county. I have built a small business, created jobs and provided a good product at a fair price. I know how to work and save taxpayer dollars. I grew up on the McIntyre family farm near DeGonia Springs and I serve on various boards, such as Women’s Fund of the Warrick County Community Foundation, SW Behavior Healthcare, Inc., Child Protective Team and Child Fatality Review Team. I am a member of Women’s Club of Newburgh, Chamber of Commerce, Farm Bureau and attend Living Word Christian Church in Newburgh.
