Mary Ellen (Fortune) Cundiff, 96, of Boonville, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Newburgh Healthcare Center Newburgh.

She was born on July 7, 1921 in Warrick County, the daughter of the late Lona and Eacle (Arterberry) Fortune.

She attended First Christian Church of Boonville and was a devoted member of the VFW Auxiliary for over 65 years. Mary was a very independent woman who enjoyed singing and was known to many as an Avon representative.

Mary is survived by her brother, Carl Ugene Fortune and his wife Shirley of Boonville; daughter in law, Joyce Cundiff of Boonville; grandson, Bill (Jayne) Cundiff of Newburgh; sister in laws, Nina Cundiff, of Boonville, and Betty Cundiff of Boonville; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Cundiff; sons, Gary Cundiff and Rick Cundiff; and four sisters.

Services are 2 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and again at 1 p.m. on Friday until service time.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church in Boonville in Mary’s name.
