Major Dr. Arnold B. Voglesong, 83, passed away Nov. 11, 2017. He was born on Aug. 9, 1934, in Valparaiso, Ind., to Harry W. and Pearl G. (Froman) Voglesong; and was raised in Crawford County, Ind.

He was a optometrist for 20 years, he received his bachelor's of teaching with a master's degree of Optometry from IU. He was in the United States Air Force retiring as a Major after 20 years, he served 5 years in the Navy and 10 years in the Naval Reserves. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic Vietnam Campaign Medal. After retiring from the service he returned to Evansville to civilian life as an Optometrist.

Arnold loved gardening and his pets, Gidget, Baby and Cali.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 31 years, Sondra Kay (Heck) Voglesong; and brothers, Ronald and Donald Voglesong. Arnold is survived by his step-daughter of 36 years, Shelley Murphy; and several nieces and nephews.
