Tennyson resident Gladys Faye Franz died Sunday, Dec. 18 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was 74.

Gladys was a member of Tennyson General Baptist Church and liked to do ceramics, gardening and enjoyed her flowers and taking care of her dog, Sassy.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and a farmer’s wife.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and sisters; and her husband of 43 years, Louis Franz.

Gladys is survived by three children, Rita F. Staub and her husband, Stephen, of Gentryville, Sheila D. Crooks and her husband, Jeff, of Higbee, Mo., and James L. Franz and his wife, Jackie, of Gentryville; three grandchildren, Nick Blackford, Jimmy Franz and Jennifer Dotson; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, McKeena and Kayle Franz and Aiden Dotson; two brothers, Anthony Bender and his wife, Kay, and Clyde Bender and his wife, Jean, all of Gentryville; two sisters, June Everett and her husband, Roy, of Hatfield and Eva Mae Taylor (Kay) of Huntingburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 22 at 10 a.m. at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel. Visitation with family and friends will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21 from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery in Tennyson.
