Bobby L. James, 87, of Boonville passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Transcendent Healthcare South of Boonville.

Bob was born Oct. 9, 1929, in Ballard County, Kentucky, to the late Arthur and Myrtle (Curtis) James and was the oldest of four children.

He is survived by one brother, Tommy Ray James of Tennyson; and sister Edith Purvis of West Lafayette.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 69 years, Pauline (Sharer) James; brother Jesse Lee James of Barlow, Kentucky; and grandson, Denny James.

Bob retired from Whirlpool Corporation of Evansville after 40 years of service. Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He is survived by his children, Brenda (David) Tuley of Boonville; David (Phyllis) James of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; Terry (Janet) James of Boonville and Randy James of Boonville. He was a grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 20.

The family would like to thank those who cared for Bob in his final days at Deaconess Main Campus and Transcendent Healthcare South.

A graveside memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Plainview Memorial Cemetery in Boonville.

Koehler Funeral Home of Boonville is entrusted with care.
