James Herbert Taylor, 58, of Dale, Ind., died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at the Linda E. White Hospice House of Evansville.

James was born in Selvin on Sept. 12, 1959 to the late Garvin and Ida Mae (McNeely) Taylor. He worked at Best Home Furnishings in Ferdinand for many years and was a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Taylor; siblings, Mike, Arnold and Ronnie.

James is survived by his children, Amy Mehringer and her husband, Shaun of Evansville, Ind.; Ryan Taylor and his wife, Dayna of Dickson, Tenn.; step-children, Laura Campbell, Russell Roy and his wife, McCartney; William Roy and his wife, Amy; Nick Roy; grandchildren, Ally, Kayden, Max, Dayton, Kyra, Trinity, Lettie, Adalynn, Willow; siblings, Janet Madison, Brenda Hanes, Carol Miller, John Taylor, Joe Taylor.

A memorial service will be held at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Ind., on Saturday, Oct.14, 2017, at 6 p.m.

Visitation is from 4 - 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
