Mary Eunice “Mimi” Wallace, 99, of Boonville, passed away peacefully at her home on Dec. 22, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Docia Sisk; husband, Clarence Wallace; daughters, Barbara White and Charlotte Barr; sisters and brother-in-laws, Lois and Clarence Shelton, Mamie and Ragie Peyton; sister, Blanche Sisk; and brother, Garnet Sisk.
Eunice was born on Oct. 29, 1919 in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. She graduated from Nortonville High School in 1937 and married Clarence Wallace in Aug. of that same year. Eunice worked at Briggs for three years making parts for airplanes while her husband was away fighting in WWII. She also worked at GE for 23 years until, as she said, Singapore took their jobs. Eunice enjoyed her 14 years at WCSC and 15 years at Buehler’s BuyLow as the Demo Lady where she made lifelong friends. She was a member of Main Street General Baptist Church, where she held the positions of the Secretary and Treasurer of the Pioneer Sunday School Class and was a member of the Sunshine Missionary Circle. Eunice was also a 25 year member of Happy Homemakers of Warrick County.
Eunice loved to garden, make crafts, sew and cook, but nothing brought her greater joy than her grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved that some of the great grandkids would come to her house each morning to get on the bus and in the afternoons she would have their favorite food waiting for them when they got off the bus. She was a huge Kentucky Wildcats fan and never missed a listening to a basketball game.
Eunice is survived by her sister-in-law, Edna Sisk; son-in-law, Phillip Barr; grandchildren, Cheryl (Leroy) Youngblood, Susan (Jack) Stephens, Krista (John) Cohoon, David (Melissa) White, Douglas (Kati) Barr; great-grandchildren, Anisha Hensley, Arial Young, Cheyann Youngblood, Shane Stephens, Lily Cohoon, Drake Cohoon, Olivia Barr, Maggie Barr; nephew, Ron (Barbara) Peyton; niece, Carolyn (Mark) Simonds, as well as six great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Sharon Hagenseiker, Kathy Merrill and Jennie (Ron) Garrison for always looking out for her and offering their help and friendship.
