Films you should see this month

I'm really looking forward for a lot of incredible movies that are coming out this year, but this month specifically there are a few blockbusters coming out that I recommend everyone go out and see.

If you haven't seen the "Black Panther" trailer yet, please do. If the trailer is truly a reflection of the movie, then it is going to be fantastic.

"Black Panther" follows the adventures of King T'Challa, played by terrific Chadwick Boseman, who we were first introduced to in "Captain America: Civil War."

The trailer intercuts between many face paced action scenes in the movie, showcasing the incredible and wide range of black talent, from Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong'o to Angela Bassett and recent Oscar nominee Daniel Kaluuya, as well as the gorgeous and lush landscape that makes up the fictional and beautiful country of Wakanda intercut to the booming song "Legend Has It" by Run The Jewels.

Go out on Feb. 16 and support a movie with a largely black male cast supporting a black male lead playing a powerful superhero so we can have more movies like this please.

On that note, don't forget to watch the new Natalie Portman futuristic sci-fi thriller "Annihilation," out Feb. 23. The movie centers around Portman's character who is a biologist that ends up going on a wild expedition into land sealed off by the government as an environmental disaster zone. Besides the cool premise, the film also boasts an amazing supporting cast of women including Gina Rodriguez, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Tessa Thompson.

Now we can't forget the movie all guys would trade their Xboxes just for the chance to see in theatres: "50 Shades Freed."

Joking aside, although the franchise is super corny, and based off of even cornier books, there is something so fun and outrageous about the premise of falling in love with this handsome, twisted wealthy man. Mostly, I am excited to finally see Ana and Christian's wedding and see if the movie follows the same ending as the popular books -- and yes I read all three of them. The movie comes out on Feb. 9.

So if you're bored at home or need a good Valentine's Day this February, checkout all of these thrilling movies. You won't be disappointed.
