Warrick County Farm Bureau 100-Year Anniversary

The Warrick County Farm Bureau will celebrate their 100-year Anniversary with displays of history and activities, drawings for prizes, and free hamburgers and hot dogs. Everyone is invited to the event on Friday, June 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Warrick County Farm Bureau Insurance Office at 3050 Warrick Drive, Boonville.

Town of Newburgh Community Wide Yard Sale

The Town of Newburgh Community Wide Yard Sale is June 7 and June 8. A map of registered yard sales will be available at Town Hall, on the Town website and on the Town Facebook page. All participating residents are asked to put a balloon on their mailbox.

Kenny Presley Concert and Dance

Kenny Presley Concert and Dance event to Benefit the Tennyson Community Pantry is June 8 at 6 p.m. at the Tennyson Elementary School Gym. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. Advanced tickets are $15, $12, $10 and can be ordered by calling 812-362-7153

Wild Bill Hickok

Warrick County Museum hosts guest speaker David Wolfe as Wild Bill Hickok on Saturday, June 8 at 6 p.m. Learn some history and enjoy some great appetizers and fellowship. Tickets are $20 each and available at Miller's on the Square in Boonville or at the Museum. Tickets can also be ordered by mailing a check for reservation.

Evansville Symphonic Band Concert

The Evansville Symphonic Band conducted by Kim Fillingim will present a concert with the theme "Summon the Heroes" on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at 7 p.m. in the Central High School Auditorium, First Avenue. The band will continue its 70-year-old tradition of playing famous marches such as Stars and Stripes Forever by Sousa along with other patriotic music, Broadway medleys, and famous band music from our country's history. Piccolo soloist Charlotte Roth will be Boonville native featured playing "Piccolo Espanol" by Christensen. Vocal soloist will be Kerri Blanford. Pat Stuckemeyer, conductor of River Brass, will guest conduct the band. Band members are professional musicians and teachers from the Tri-State Area. A special feature of this concert is the addition of area High School Seniors who are recommended by their teachers and band directors to receive the Wesley Shepard Young Performer Award. These talented young musicians will be the future performers and teachers in our community. They will join the band for this concert and will be recognized for their years of devotion to band music in their local schools. At 6 p.m. before the concert Food Trucks will have food available for purchase at Central High School.

Dinner at St. Rupert Church

Dinner at St. Rupert Church, at 1244 W. Red Brush Road, Newburgh, on Sunday, June 9 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Dinner includes choice of fried chicken or grilled pork chop, hand-made dumplings, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes with gravy, slaw, dessert, and drink. $10 adult plate, $4 child plate. Vacation Bible School

Southside Baptist Church at 244 Yankeetown Rd., Boonville, will have Vacation Bible School June 10 through June 12 from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. for Pre-school through Grade 6. Bible stories, music, crafts, recreation and snacks.

Fletcher Chapel Indoor Yard Sale

Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church, north of Boonville at Hwy 61 and Holder Hill Rd, is having an indoor yard sale Friday, June 14 from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Saturday, June 15 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Concerts On The Reading Patio

The Newburgh Chandler Public Library, at 4111 Lakeshore Dr., Newburgh, invites the community to the Summer Reading Program Patio Concert Series. The concerts will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in June. On Tuesday, June 11, Sarah Loane will take the stage. Gibson & Pirro will perform on Tuesday, June 18. The concert finale will be held on Tuesday, June 25, with a performance by The Honey Vines. The Concerts on the Patio Series is made possible by the Newburgh Chandler Public Library Friends organization. Come early. Bring lawn chairs and snacks. Ohio River Sweep

The 2019 Ohio River Sweep is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, along the shorelines of the Ohio River and many of its tributaries. People who want to volunteer should visit www.OhioRiverSweep.org to find the list of over 100 locations and then contact their local Coordinator. Trash bags are provided and each volunteer will receive a free T-shirt. The Ohio River Sweep is organized by the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission (ORSANCO) and other state and environmental agencies from Pennsylvania to Illinois. ORSANCO is the water pollution control agency for the Ohio River.

Hope Central Grand Re-Opening

Encountering Hope Ministries as Hope Central will be hosting their grand re-opening on Tuesday, June 18 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 4205 West SR 62 in Boonville. The public is invited to learn more about all the services that Hope Central offers such as their Manna Market food bank, Grace Garments clothing bank and Bibs & Bottle Boutique for diapers and baby items. Hope Central strives to diminish the impact of poverty by providing resources such as food and clothing, but also by teaching life skills and other resources and support to individuals and families.
