A Newburgh woman has been arrested following the shooting death of a Newburgh man in Birdseye.

Lisa Harris, 57, of Newburgh was arrested following the shooting of Michael Harris, 56, of Newburgh, in Birdseye on Friday, Aug. 28. According to a release from the Indiana State Police, the ISP responded to a report of a shooting that occured in the 2400 block of North Dillard Road in Birdseye just before 9 p.m. on Friday.

According to the release, a preliminary investigation shows that Lisa Harris shot Michael Harris. The release states that Michael Harris was treated for serious injuries at the scene by Crawford County EMS before being transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to the release, Lisa Harris was incarcerated in the Crawford County Jail for homicide. The release states that the investigation is ongoing.
