Warrick County Sheriff’s Office Detectives assigned to the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a CyberTipline Report on March 29, 2021 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating that an individual in Newburgh, Indiana had uploaded images and videos containing child pornography to the internet, according to a release.
Additional investigation led to the execution of a search warrant that same day at an apartment in Newburgh. Information gathered during the execution of the search warrant led to the arrest of Shane Collins, 32, of Newburgh, at his apartment on numerous charges for sex crimes against children.

The Warrick County Prosecutor’s Office formally filed the following charges in Warrick Superior Court No. 2:
- Child Molesting, a Level 1 felony (2 Counts)
- Child Molesting, a Level 4 felony (1 Count)
- Incest, a Level 4 felony (1 Count)
- Child Exploitation, a Level 4 felony (16 Counts)
- Possession of Child Pornography, a Level 5 felony (17 Counts)
Collins is being held in the Warrick County Jail in lieu of a $500,000 cash bond. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
The Warrick County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Evansville Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Indiana State Police, and the Indiana Department of Child Services.

The release also noted that all suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
