Boonville, IN. — Mary Catherine (Callis) Heidorn departed this life at her home, on March 15, 2021 at the age of 95. She was the sixth child of fourteen children born to Roye & Rebecca Callis of Warrick County, Indiana. She was born on Aug. 24, 1925.

She was a member of St. John’s UCC of Boonville, Indiana. She joined the church in 1947.

Mary loved her family dearly. She also enjoyed gardening, craft fairs, traveling with Rolland and her children and playing golf. She loved having all her children home for their birthdays and all holidays.

Mary resided most of her life in Boonville, Indiana. When Rolland got sick, they sold their house in Boonville and moved to 2161 E Mulberry in Evansville, Indiana where they were closer to the doctors and hospital. “We didn’t want to move, but knew it was best for both of us. It was home to us, our family and all our friends. It is a haven of rest for all of us. The Lord was with us all our lives and we loved him dearly.”

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland in 2005; son, Ronald in 2014; her parents, Roye and Rebecca Callis; six brothers, Roy, George, James, Earl, Arthur and Alfred Callis. Five sisters, Ann Stanley, Mildred Stork and Margaret Kolle, Clara Mae Robbins, and

Naomi Splittorff.

She is survived by her son, Randall and his wife, Charlene of Newburgh, IN; daughter-in-law, Linda of Evansville, IN; one brother, Arvil Callis of Boonville IN; and one sister, Ruth Keethers of Tennyson, IN. one sister in-law; Irene Callis; one brother-in law Adam Ray Splittorff of Boonville. Grandchildren, Neil Heidorn and his wife, Michele of Newburgh, IN; Taylor Heidorn and his wife Lara of Louisville, KY; Gail Walker and her husband, Aaron of Boonville, IN; She was known as “Sugar” to her great-grandchildren, Alec Marshall of Boonville and Allison Bannister and her husband Andy of Evansville, IN, Abby Walker and her fiancée Dylan Meredith of Newburgh, IN and Maximus, Maverick and Violet Heidorn of Louisville, KY. One Great-Great grandchild; Bentley (Benny) Bannister of Newburgh, IN.

Service were held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Boonville, Indiana with Pastor Robert Shofner officiating. Burial took place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, Indiana.

Visitation was held at 9 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church. Services were streamed from St. John’s UCC Facebook page.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to The Good Samaritan Home, Heart to Heart Hospice and Dr. Della Dillard.
