GENTRYVILLE, Ind. — Robert Lee Marshall, 72, of Gentryville, Indiana passed away on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Robert was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on Sept. 6, 1948 to the late Norman and Pauline (Martin) Marshall.
Robert served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the Selvin United Methodist Church and the Ferdinand American Legion Post # 124. Robert was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed traveling, camping and spending time with his family and friends. Robert was a gifted handyman and enjoyed offering these skills to anyone who needed help. Throughout his life, Robert worked as a heavy equipment operator, in construction, and as a truck driver. He retired from Best Chairs Transit after 23 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Scales; brother, Ronald Marshall.
Robert is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janet Marshall of Gentryville, Indiana; children, Laura Martin of Gentryville, Indiana; Kevin Marshall and his wife, Marisa of Grandview, Indiana; Matthew Marshall and his wife, Tisha of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Landon, Michael, Noah, Peyton, Claire, Samantha; siblings, Nancy Russell, Hope Marshall, Linda Byers and her husband, Wayne; Janice Tucker, Don Marshall, Bill Marshall, Paul Marshall, Gary Marshall and his wife, Barb; several nieces and nephews, church family and many life-long friends.
Services were on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020 at Selvin United Methodist Church in Selvin, Indiana with pastors Terry Kamman and Gary Marshall officiating. Burial was held at Selvin Cemetery in Selvin, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Selvin Community Center fund or to the Selvin United Methodist Church Building Fund.
