Robert Richmond

Robert Richmond, 100, of Boonville, Indiana, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021. He was a loving Christian husband and father to his family. He was a prayer warrior and encourager to his family and all that knew him.

He was a former member of Townsend Bible Church in Newburgh, Indiana, Calvary Baptist Church of Fruitland Park, Florida, and was presently a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Evansville, Indiana.

Robert was a World War II veteran who served with the Tank Destroyer Division, and was in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a recipient of the Bronze Medal for Bravery and the Purple Heart. He worked 29 years for Boonville Natural Gas Corp. and retired in 1982.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Evelyn; his parents William and Mary P. Richmond; sister, Mary Lois Richmond; and brother LeRoy Richmond.

Survivors include his sons, Greg (LaDonna) Richmond of Boonville, and Gary (Nancy) Richmond of Little Hocking, OH; 4 grandchildren, Abby (Daniel) Roach of Newburgh, Rebekah (Greg) Bowe, Gabriel (Carrie) Richmond, of Belpre, OH, and Jared Richmond of Belpre, OH; great-granddaughters, Addie, Chloe, and Lilly Bowe, Hanna and Sara Richmond of Belpre, OH, Evelyn and Anna Roach of Newburgh, IN.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery in Chandler, Indiana.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Newburgh Healthcare and Heritage Hospice for their awesome care the past 2 years.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions be mailed to Landmark Baptist Church, 1624 Helfrich Ave, Evansville, IN 47712.
