BOONVILLE, Ind. — Gynith Ann Helms, 84, loving mother and adoring wife to Roy, her high school sweetheart, went to meet Jesus and receive her final rewards on the 21st of July, 2022.

She was born in Boonville, Ind., on Feb. 10, 1938, to Effie Tennyson Eastham and Arnold Eastham.

Gynith was a wonderful wife, loving mother, and homemaker. She was a faithful worker, from a jewelry store clerk, secretary, Christian school worker and other Christian ministries. In her handicapped condition since 1983, she was faithful to do what she could until a stroke put her in a wheelchair in 2009. In spite of the fact that she had two ruptured brain aneurysms and surgeries, she will always be remembered for her good attitude, cheerful sense of humor and her beautiful smile. She loved her husband, family and the ministry for Jesus Christ. She will be missed by all who really knew her.

She is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Gerald Eastham, Revis Eastham, Charles Eastham, Jack Eastham, Ima Fetter, Lucille Shirley, Bernice Shirley and Gayle Smithhart; and several nieces and nephews.

Gynith is survived by her husband, Roy Helms; two children, Karen (Wendell) Mangrum, and Kathy Helms; her step-granddaughter, Wendy (Matt) Young; her great-step-grandchildren, Brady and Blaise Young; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Tuesday, July 26, at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Ind., with Pastors Ron Helms, Tim Hall, Randy Chandler, and Ed Helms officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, Ind.

Visitation was held Monday, July 25, and again until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
