Boonville — Michael “Ace” Wayne Austin, 71, of Boonville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Michael was born in Vincennes, Indiana on Oct. 1, 1948 to the late William G. and Louis (Johnson) Austin.

Ace served in the United States Army 2nd Infantry Division. He worked at ALCOA and retired after 39 years of service. He was a member of North Friendship General Baptist Church and the Boonville American Legion Post # 200. Michael enjoyed bowling and bluegrass music.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 39 years, Patricia E. Austin; grandson, Johnathan Pfettscher; niece, Anna Austin.

Michael is survived by his children, Misty Pfettscher and her husband, Wayne of Boonville, IN; Dusty Crowley and her husband, Ivan of Evansville, IN; Wendy Austin of Boonville, IN; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother, Bill Austin and his wife, Jane of Utah; 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

Services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020 at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Indiana. Burial will be at Plainview Cemetery in Boonville, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
