Aaron “AW” Wesley Held

BOONVILLE, Ind. — Aaron “AW” Wesley Held, 80, of Boonville, Indiana passed away on Monday, Nov. 9, 2020 at Newburgh Healthcare.

Aaron was born in Yankeetown, Indiana on March 30, 1940 to the late Owen and Mary Jane (Caswell) Held.

Aaron served in the United States Army as a paratrooper. He retired as a carpenter and millwright with the Union Local 90. He enjoyed woodworking, making furniture, gardening, and westerns. He was a member of the Red Brush Gun Club where they called him the Silver Fox.

He is preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Errin Kissel; brother, Owen C. Held.

Aaron is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou Held of Boonville, IN; children, Jane Jaggers and her husband, Stephen of Rockport, IN; Melody Hudson of Rockport, IN; Veronica Clingerman and her husband, Dave of Astatula, FL; Nancy Kendall and her husband, Jeromy of Satellite Beach, FL; 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; siblings, Nancy Kell, Ruth Clark and her husband, Bud; mother-in-law, Mary Jane Woods; several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Indiana with Pastor Phil Elikofer officiating. Burial will take place at Bates Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
