Dennis “Stoney” Stoneberger

Dennis “Stoney” Stoneberger, 71, of Folsomville passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020 at home.

Dennis was born in Evansville on Nov. 11, 1948 to Benjamin “Stoney” and Mildred (Hess) Stoneberger.

He graduated from Old Central High School in 1966 and Ivy Tech with an associate’s degree in accounting in 1986. He worked at Whirlpool for 41 years and was a supervisor in plastic liners for the last 10 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Dennis was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church. He loved fishing, spending time with family and always had a quick word or joke to make others laugh.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Diana (Miles) Stoneberger; son, Michael Stoneberger, of Evansville; daughter, Melissa (Tim) Dixon, of Johnson City, Tennessee; grandson, Noah Dixon, of Johnson City, Tennessee; brother, Dan (Earleen) Stoneberger of Evansville; sisters, Ann Oakley and Mary Ball, both of Evansville, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and special family friend Matt McClarney.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Perry Stoneberger; two sisters, Martha Stoneberger and MaraBeth Gordon; brothers-in-law Charles Ball, Jim Oakley, William Miles, Kenny “Jake” Miles, Bob Stuteville, Bob Barton; sister-in-law Betty Jo Miles; nephews Aaron Lynch, Tim Hunt, Randy Stuteville and Rob Stuteville.

Services will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020 at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Indiana with Pastor Scott Westerman officiating. Burial will be at Folsomville Cemetery in Folsomville, Indiana with the Warrick County Veterans Memorial Services to conduct military honors.

Visitation was held from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020 and again from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.

The family would like to give a special thanks to St. Vincent Oncology, Dr. Vivian Cook, Dr. David Kim and staff and Heart to Heart Hospice, especially Kelly, Christina and Chaplain Scott for their wonderful care.
