The family of Charles Gaythel “Gayte” Nance of Chandler, is saddened to announce his passing Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, at the age of 83.
The youngest of six children, he was born in Boonville, Ind., Aug. 4, 1939, to the late Henry T. Nance Sr. and Blanche Lee (Ashby) Nance.
He retired from Alcoa Warrick Operation in 1995 and from Red Cross Blood Services in 2001.
In addition to his parents, “Gayte,” as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was also preceded in death by his four brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Karen (Fleeger) Nance; son, Eric Nance; granddaughter, Ashlynn Nance; brother-in-law, Bob Fleeger; and several nieces and nephews.
Gayte and the love of his life, Karen, were married 60 years on Nov. 10.
His wishes are to have no visitation or funeral services. Cremation will take place.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all the nurses, aides, etc, at Heart to Heart Hospice In Home Care for being so caring and compassionate during his final days. It is very much appreciated!
