Arthur “Art” Raymond Moesner

BOONVILLE, Ind. — Arthur “Art” Raymond Moesner, 97 of Boonville, Indiana passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020 at Woodmont Health Campus in Boonville.

Art was born in Richland, Indiana on Feb. 28, 1923 to the late John Frederick and Ethel Mae (Myers) Moesner.

Art graduated from Luce Township High School in 1941. He served proudly in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan post war. He retired from ALCOA as a Master Mechanic after many years of service. Art was over a 50-year member of the Stranger’s Rest Masonic Lodge #240, VFW Post #3418, American Legion Post #200, Boonville Jaycees Club, and the Boonville Elks Lodge # 2158. He was a longtime member of the Main Street United Methodist Church. Art was an avid golfer and bowler.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 50 years, Ruth Moesner; son, Rodney Moesner; one brother; five sisters; two grandchildren.

Art is survived by his children, Arlene Fortune and her husband, Tony of Boonville, IN; Sarah Chandler and her husband, Troy of Indianapolis, IN; Catherine Woodruff and her husband, Jack of Spencer, IN; grandchildren, Tobin Fortune (Jennifer), Logan Fortune (Sheri), Robin Lockyear (Tom E), T.J. Porter (Casey), Victoria Chandler, Noah Woodruff, Daniel Woodruff, Ethan Woodruff, John Moesner; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, Oct. 12, 2020 at Koehler Funeral Home, Perigo Chapel in Chandler, Indiana with Pastor Greg Pimlott officiating. A masonic service conducted by Strangers Rest Lodge #240 took place on Monday. Burial happened at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, Indiana with the Warrick County Veterans Memorial Services to conduct military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be given to the Honor Flight of Southern Indiana, or Main Street United Methodist Church.
