Boonville — Joyce Laverne Powell, 81, of Boonville, Indiana passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at her home in Boonville, Indiana.

Joyce was born in Warrick County, Indiana on November, 12 1938 to the late Gilbert and Katherine (Clark) Lutz.

She grew up in Boonville and graduated from Boonville High School in 1957. She married the love of her life, Ronnie on September 5, 1959. She worked several part-time jobs around her kids, grandkids, and great-grand kids. Joyce was “Grandma Joyce” to many of her grandchildren’s friends and family. She attended every sporting event, play, school program etc. that she was able to. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed teaching her great-granddaughter, Ava to bake and cook. She was famous for the home cooked meals she provided to family and friends. Joyce enjoyed playing bingo and going to the boat. Scratch off tickets were her favorite gift. Being with family was her number one priority, and will be remembered for all the fun times she provided to everyone.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Michael Lutz; brother-in-law, Jerry Rauth; nephew, Kevin Rauth.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ronnie Powell; children, Kim Kelly (Clint); Rick Powell (Tammy); Randy Powell (Christy); grandchildren, Clay Kelly, Ryun and Kaydence, Lacey Tucker, Matt Tucker, Lauren Powell, DJ and little Ava, Michael Powell, Maya Powell; great-grandchildren, Ava Kelley, Owen Kelley, Nolan Tucker, Colson Tucker; sister; Phyllis Rauth; sister-in-law, Donna Lutz; nieces and nephews, Scott Rauth (Shelby); Jeff Lutz, Christine, Luke, Chris Lutz, Mandy, Evan, Ashley, Jessee.

Services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Indiana with Pastor Robert Shofner officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2020 and again from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice or to the Warrick County FOP.
