Twenty cross country teams descended on Boonville High School Saturday for the Pioneer Invitational.

Over 300 runners participated in the invitational, with 101 running in the boys varisty race, 96 in the girls varsity race, 71 in the boys junior varsity race and 35 in the girls junior varsity race.

The Pioneers took fifth in the girls varsity race with 138 points, 11th in the boys varsity race with 254 points and eighth in the boys junior varsity race with 66 points.

Top runners fo the Pioneers were Haley Barker, who came in fourth in the girls varsity race with a time of 21:03.036, and Kyle McCallister, who came in sixth in the boys varsity race with a time of 17:23.482.

Also running for the Pioneers in the boys varsity race were Abram Taylor-Schroeder, placing 45th, 19:31.100; Evan Overton, 71st, 20:28.846; Tavonte Johnson, 78th, 20:44.076; Dalton Baggett, 83rd, 21:15.036; Lathon Green, 89th, 21:38.330; and Owen Wilkins, 91st, 21:44.243. Running for Tecumseh in the boys varsity race was Clay Moore with a time of 22:02.563.

Also running for the Pioneers in the girls varsity race was Alyssia Faulkner, 26th, 23:07.893; Taryn Sloan, 34th, 24:04.506; Brooke Divine, 43rd, 24:47.960; and Della Gardner, 51st, 25:32.290. Running for Tecumseh in the girls varsity race were Summer Moore, 45th, 24:56.670; Abbey Patterson, 68th, 26:53.416; Kirsten Greenberg, 78th, 28:20.043; Payge Lemen, 86th, 30:24.103; Kaitlyn Helfert, 88th, 31:15.410; Olivia Rudolphi, 90th, 32:16.606; and Andrea Stepro, 93rd, 33:16.516.

Running for the Pioneers in the boys junior varsity race were Dillion Scherzinger, 8th, 21:03.036; Wyatt Topper, 34th, 22:27.643; Bo Smith, 49th, 24:42.210; Spencer Rickenbaugh, 62nd, 26:47.920; and Lucas Partin, 64th, 27:16.376. Running for Tecumseh in the boys junior varsity race was Shane Stephens with a time of 36:56.426.

Top runners in the boys varsity race were Matthew Schadler for Memorial with a time of 16:22.823 and Marcus Graham for Perry Central with a time of 16:30.430. Top runners in the girls varsity race were Presley Warren for Memorial with a time of 19:50.540 and Mykayla Couchenour for South Knox with a time of 20:34.156. The top runners for the boys junior varsity race were Trevor Beurman for Memorial with a time of 19:37.906 and Josh Chamberlain for Central with a time of 19:38.766. The top runners in the girls varsity race were Izzy Haseman with a time of 23:40.236 and Taylor Gries with a time of 24:12.966 both for Memorial.
