Warrick County marching bands are making their mark on the state.

Both the Castle Marching Knights and the Boonville Band of Gold are moving on to state finals.

The Boonville Band of Gold traveled to Decatur Central High School for the Class C semistate competition and came out in the top ten against 20 bands in their class. Boonville will compete at 2:54 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday.

The Castle Marching Knights competed against 20 bands in Class A at Ben Davis High School in the semistate competition. Castle came out in the top 10 and will compete at 7:40 p.m. at Lucas Oil on Saturday.

The ISSMA (Indiana State School Music Association) Marching Band State Finals are held at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis. This event is the culmination of many weeks of marching band competitions across the state of Indiana, bringing together the top 10 bands across four classes (A, B, C, & D) chosen from the top 10 in each class in semi-state competition during the previous weekend. This event typically attracts more than 20,000 marching band fans from across the state throughout the day.
